SAFETY ALERT!!!

Attention Members! PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY VALUABLES AND BE SURE TO REMOVE ANY VISIBLE ITEMS BEFORE YOU LEAVE YOUR CARS! We had an unfortunate incident last Saturday and one of our members’ car was broken into. Fortunately, another member saw what happened, got the tag number, called the police, and was able to later identify the thief who is currently in custody. Even though we have police doing rounds at the park and parking lots, we strongly ask that you do not leave anything in your cars.

"TRAINING TIP OF THE WEEK:"

GIVE YOUR BODY TIME TO RECOVER! RESTING DAYS ARE AS IMPORTANT AS YOUR TRAINING DAYS!"

Are you over training or working hard and intense workouts back to back days? Remember that your training schedule should be a combination of hard days, easier days and resting days! Not all your workouts should be the same, and a rest day between hard workouts is extremely important! You must allow time for your body to recover and restore the microscopic wear and tear your muscles experience during intense workouts. In your rest days, you are actually getting stronger! Lack of rest could lead to injury, while appropriate rest will make you a more powerful athlete! Remember balance.

"My Success Story " By Don Oxley

It is 3 am and the alarm goes off!!

It's 3AM and the alarm is going off. I watch my wife Ileana crawl out of bed and stumble her way in the dark to find the bathroom. The bathroom light illuminates and the door shuts behind her. I roll over, fluff my pillow and the last thought that goes through my head before fade back into a slumber is "She's crazy!"

Such as it was every Saturday morning all through 2008, Ileana joining her FIT friends on the beach…..to continue reading…click here!!

Don joined us in April of this year and recently completed his first 18 miler. He did TERRIFIC! Don, we are so proud of you! Welcome to the FIT Family. We are very happy to have you on board and are glad you can now come out and “play” with us :). Thank you for being such and inspiration for so many of us! Keep up the great work!
