"TRAINING TIP OF THE WEEK: KEEP A TRAINING LOG! by Assistant Coach Greg Raven"

Why Keep a Training Log?
A “Training Log” is your diary of your training efforts. It doesn't take long to write down the distance, pace, route and duration of the workout. Add a few notes on the intensity of the workout, what the weather was like, and who you ran with. If you use a heart rate monitor, note the average and maximum heart rate. Total the mileage at the end of the week, and note the amount of speed and/or hill work.

After only a few weeks you will have a useful history of your running/walking. Everyone responds differently to training, and your training log will help you make adjustments to the amount and intensity most appropriate for you. A weekly summary will show the percentages of easy, speed, hill training, and long runs/walks. If you race well, your training log will tell the secrets of your success ! If you become injured, your log will tell you what not to do next time. It takes only a couple of minutes to log your training, and you will have a powerful tool to transform yourself into the best runner/walker you can be !

"My Success Story " By Gloria Aguirre

Gloria says No other group compares to Friends In Training!

I just wanted to thank the FIT group for making me feel so welcomed. After taking six years off because of my babies, I feel like I never left. In those six years I tried to find running groups closer to home, but I never seemed to "fit" in. I decided that the 40 minute drive from Weston is well worth it, because no other group compares to Friends in Training.

Thank you Gloria and Welcome back!
We love training with you and we are very happy to have you as a part our FIT family! Here is where you belong! :)We missed you!
