WELCOME NEW MEMBERS AND RETURNING ALUMNI!!!! We are so EXCITED about our new FIT Season! We love the new beginnings, they are exciting times! We have new goals and dreams ahead of us, and a wonderful journey to look forward to. We have many beautiful sunrises to see, new friendships to make, and many miles of fun ahead of us! On behalf of your Friends at Friends In Training, Coaches and Assistant Coaches, we would like to extend a warm WELCOME to all those who joined us in the last couple of weeks. Whether you are new to our group, or you are a returning member, please know that we are thrilled to have you, and that we are here to support you every step of the way! :) You are in for an experience of a life time!! For pictures of our sign up sessions, Click Here and Here You all look great! :) Thanks Greg! THIS SATURDAY! FALL/FULL MARATHONERS: FIRST 14 MILER OF THE SEASON!! YAY! This Saturday, our Fall-FULL group (those who joined back in May) will be going for their first 14 miler of the season. This is more than a Half Marathon distance! WOO HOO!! Please remember to check our FIT Long Run Planning Checklist to be ready, and plan accordingly. Good luck everyone! :) FALL/HALF MARATHONERS WILL MERGE WITH WINTER GROUP AS OF THIS WEEK. 3 STRONG MILES THIS SATURDAY!! If you joined in May and feel strong about your training in the last few months, this is a perfect time if you’d like to try out a faster pace with the shorter distance, and start building up. If you feel comfortable with your current pace, you do not need to make any changes. If you just joined us, we hope you enjoy your first 3 miles this Saturday! Please do not forget to bring your water for the run and a towel for the stretching after. For start times, see below. Have fun everyone! :) SEMINAR THIS SATURDAY: GET FASTER/GET STRONGER: BENEFITS OF SPEED TRAINING!! BROUGHT TO US BY Bob Dozoretz Bob Dozoretz has been running steadily for over 25 years and has run competitively in well over 1,000 races, locally, nationally and internationally. Bob is a certified ASEP coach, previously ranked #1 in Florida in the ½ marathon, 1999 Sun-Sentinel Most Improved Runner, 2003 & 2004 Sun-Sentinel Coach Of The Year, and voted 2004 Best Running Coach by Florida Sports magazine. He is past co-owner of Runners Depot, a Ft. Lauderdale based running store, and has coached the last 8 years for local clubs, charity organizations and individuals. Still running strong, he plans on running injury free for another 25 years. You do not want to miss this Seminar! OTHER GENERAL INFO! FALL SPEED TRAINING KICK OFF AT CENTRAL PARK TUESDAY, AUGUST 3RD! Attention Fall Members! We are excited to announce our Speed Training Sessions are just around the corner, and this year better than ever! We will be introducing a new Speed Training Program! We have some new GREAT track workouts to help you get faster and stronger, and we have hired Coach Bob for a few weeks to work along with Assistant Coach Veronica, and provide our members with valuable tips, help and support on the track as needed. You DO NOT want to miss it! Weekly Speed Training Sessions at Central Park start Tuesday, August 3rd. Meet us at the track at 7:00 pm! Winter members are welcome to join us at Central Park for regular training runs, however, we do not recommend Winter members to join the track workouts just yet, as they need to work on building up a strong base before, just as our Fall members have been doing for the last 3 months. If you have any questions in regards to this please contact your Head Coach at [email protected] REGISTRATION UPDATE! If you missed our registration sessions, you still have time to join! We will be taking registrations for a couple of more weeks at the park, (until mid August), or you can register online COME BACK! WE MISS YOU!! Attention members! It was great to hear all the things our members and FIT Leadership Team love about our group. Forget the running! Between the “going to breakfast after the run”, the parties and social events, the traveling, the wonderful friendships we make, the camaraderie, and the awesome feeling of crossing that finish line, what else can we ask for?! We can proudly say we are the BEST TRAINING GROUP IN THE AREA! :)(oh! And don’t forget the good looking people!
