'Every worthwhile accomplishment has a price tag attached to it. The question is always whether you are willing to pay the price to attain it- in hard work, sacrifice, patience, faith and endurance.' John C. Maxwell

GENERAL INFO
CELEBRATE NATIONAL RUNNING DAY!

National Running Day is a national initiative where many of the major organizations within the running industry are joining forces in a unified effort to nationally and locally promote running as a healthy, easy, and accessible form of exercise. The inaugural National Running Day is Wednesday, June 3!
From New York to San Diego, the day will celebrate the benefits of running as part of a healthy and active lifestyle aimed at combating some of today’s most pressing health issues.
You can participate in National Running Day anywhere—Just go for a run on June 3, and encourage your friends to run with you. Wear your running shoes all day long, and if anyone asks, tell them about your run, National Running Day, and all the things you love about running!

Alumni, review strategies for long run success, and share your long runs experiences with our new members! This will be an interactive seminar where you can share what works and has not worked for you during the long runs. You don’t want to miss it! We will have a check list/handout available to help you be ready!

"TRAINING TIP OF THE WEEK:TRAIN AT THE RIGHT PACE FOR YOU!"

Our Saturday runs must be done at a comfortable pace for you. To know if you are training at the right pace, you can perform the “talk test”. While running, you should be able to keep up a conversation without gasping for air. If you find yourself having difficulty, or breathing heavily, we advise that you transition to a pace/group that will be much more comfortable for you. We want you to run comfortable and happy!:)

"My Success Story" By Ben Padilla

Ben says FIT is about encouraging ordinary people to do extraordinary things!

Only 1 in 1 million make their dreams come true to become a professional athlete. If you do not make it, you look for plan B which is to become a college athlete. Everyone has their life reasons for not making it either way. I have struggled with this for so long to the point of considering a psychologist. This topic has never let me live in peace until April 19, 2008 when Friend’s in Training touched my life.. I found my passion………. I was alive again. One thing I have always regretted during my athletic career was the absence of family to support me during my initial path in sports. But this was not the case with the FIT Family. My coach Veronica Ghoghos became my friend, mentor, confidant and my biggest supporter. The support has been incredible during the six month training and the goal to complete my first marathon in San Antonio, Texas on November 11, 2008. You see FIT is about encouraging ordinary people to do extraordinary things. I heard the other day that if you want to experience a run do a mile but if you want to experience life do a marathon. I have been reborn.

Ben has come a long way since he joined FIT and he has become a strong active FIT member! Ben we are thrilled to have you as a part of our FIT family! We are here to support you in accomplishing all your goals!
