HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND! AND YES, WE ARE RUNNING THIS SATURDAY!!:)

Greetings Friends In Training,
On behalf of your Coaches and Assistant Coaches, we would like to wish each an everyone of you a safe, happy and healthy holiday weekend. Please note that we are still meeting this Saturday for a walk run. If you are unable to join us, please be sure to get your 5 miles in on your own.

What an awesome Seminar we had last Saturday! Please join us as we thank Chuck from Runners Depot, Gene from Brooks and Jay with MixLife/Mix1 for such an informative and dynamic presentation. In addition, we had LOTS of goodies and raffle prizes! Congratulations to all the winners. We hope you all enjoyed the seminar and the goodies. NIAGARA FALLS MARATHON UPDATE

We are super excited about the Niagara Falls Marathon! We currently have close to 40 members taking advantage of the discounts and joining us for this event. That is TERRIFIC!

DEADLINE FOR DISCOUNTS CONCLUDED, BUT STILL TIME TO REGISTER FOR THE NIAGARA FALLS MARATHON/HALF MARATHON!!

Attention members: DO NOT GET LEFT BEHIND!If you did not get to register with our event coordinator Denise last Saturday, please know we will be collecting applications again on June 24th so you can still register with us as a group. We will not be able to offer the group discount any longer, but you can still register with us! You do not want to miss! It will be great!

Don’t forget, you must have a valid passport. We are also working on group rates for travel arrangements, hotels, etc. Denise will follow up with Travel Agent once we know more closely how many are going. Family members are welcome. SEMINAR THIS SATURDAY: INFORMAL Q&A.

Due to the holiday weekend, we will not have a formal seminar this Saturday. Instead, we will have an informal Q&A session after the stretching to answer any questions our members may have up to this point. You are welcome to join us for breakfast to a local dinner after that. Enjoy the holiday weekend!

INFORMAL TRAINING RUNS DURING THE WEEK!!

We are in the process of putting a list together with options for informal weekly meetings, places and times. If you are currently training on your own and are looking for training partners, stay tuned! If you are training with others and more can join you, please send us the information so we can add it to the list and send it out next week. Please email [email protected]

LAST CALL FOR FIT REGISTRATIONS!

This will be the last Saturday we will be taking registrations at the park. After that, it would be on a case by case basis according to fitness level and current level of training. If you wish to register online, online registration is still available. (Please note: Active.com processing fees apply when registering online).

TRAINING TIP OF THE WEEK
WE CAN’T STRESS THIS ENOUGH:IMPORTANT! BE SURE YOU ARE TRAINING AT THE RIGHT PACE FOR YOU!!!

Our Saturday runs must be done at a comfortable pace for you. To know if you are training at the right pace, you can perform the “talk test”. While running, you should be able to keep up a conversation without gasping for air.

If you find yourself having difficulty, or breathing heavily, we advise that you transition to a pace/group that will be much more comfortable for you. Saturday runs should be done at a 1 to 2 minute slower than your regular/race pace. If you feel like the group you currently are right now is a bit challenging, it will get even more challenging as the miles increase so you must adjust your pace and transition to a group more comfortable for you. We want you to succeed with your training and run comfortable and happy! :)

SATURDAY MAY 29

5 MILES THIS SATURDAY!

This Saturday all groups will go out for our first 5 miler of the season!

Please note the different start times according to your group!

Remember to be at the park 15 minutes prior to your start time.

Group A (14-16 min/mile pace) - 6:30 AM

Group B (12-14 min/mile pace) - 6:30 AM

Group C (10.5-12 min/mile pace) -6:45 AM

Group D (9.0-10.5 min/mile pace)-7:00 AM

Group E (< 9.0 min/mile pace) - 7:00 AM

Please don't forget to bring your water bottle and a towel.

Congratulations Singer Island Triathlon Participants!!
Please join is in congratulating FIT Assistant Coaches Debbie and Terry and FIT members David Slaughter, and Ilene Schnall on an awesome job completing the Singer Island Triathlon this past Sunday. We heard everyone did fantastic! GREAT JOB EVERYONE! We are so proud of you!

Please join is in congratulating FIT member Eleno on placing 1st at the Keys100 50 mile individual race! WAY TO GO ELENO! We are so proud of you! We also congratulate his wife Andrea on such a big accomplishment!

Our FIT members and Teams Six on the Beach and Your Pace or Mine, had a wonderful performance as well!
