Greetings Everyone! 13.1 EXCITMENT CONTINUES!!!! It has been a week and a half and we are still hearing GREAT stories about the fabulous 13.1 event! Great job everyone! Your success is our success! FULL MARATHONERS 16 MILES, HALF MARATHONERS 7 MILES. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!! This Saturday, November 27th, our full marathoners will go for a 16 mile run/walk and our Half marathoners will go for a 7 mile run/walk. NO SEMINAR THIS SATURDAY/ INFORMAL Q&A/OPEN TALK/AND HEADING TO BREAKFAST AFTER THE RUN! :) Due to the holiday weekend and the long miles, we will not have a formal Seminar this Saturday; however, after the stretching session, Assistant Coaches will be available to answer any questions our members may have in general, and members are welcome to share from their own experience. WINTER SPEED TRAINING HAS STARTED! YOU CAN STILL PARTICIPATE!! Attention Winter Members!! We are excited to announce we started our Winter Speed Training Program on Tuesday, October 19th. Woo hoo! We have some new GREAT track workouts to help you get faster and stronger, and we have hired Coach Bob for a few weeks to work along with Assistant Coach Veronica, and provide our members with valuable tips, help and support on the track as needed. To check out the list of places, days and times, please Click Here and if you have any questions, please contact [email protected] TRAINING TIP OF THE WEEK: QUESTION FROM A MEMBER- Q: Is it ok to participate in a race I did not register for? Dear Member, We have a lot of new members who may not be familiar with this concept and may not have any bad intentions, however, running a race without registering is known as "Banditting". So, the answer is no, it is not ok to participate in a race you have not registered for. There are a number of reasons why this practice is not ok. 2) Taking from others who did pay: If you complete the event and get a medal, You could potentially be taking it away from someone who did pay for their registration and may not get one at the end. This is not fair for the individual who did pay their fee. 3) Running the risk of getting caught: In general, when you take/do something you did not pay for, you run the embarrassing risk of getting caught and not being able to participate in that event ever again. So in summary, we advise that if you are planning on participating in an event that you go ahead and register for it.
