"TRAINING TIP OF THE WEEK:

BE SURE TO EAT SOMETHING ON SATURDAY BEFORE YOUR RUN! DO NOT GO OUT ON AN EMPTY STOMACH!!"

Our bodies just like a car need fuel in order to function. Especially as the miles increase, you must be sure to put fuel in your tank in order to avoid breakdown! Do not go out and attempt a long run on a empty stomach. You will be looking for trouble. You will also need to replace your electrolytes every 45 min to an hour. If you missed the Nutrition seminar a couple of Saturdays ago, here is our Nutritionist handout again. click here!. Remember as a benefit to our members, Jason offers us some special rates for his services! If you need more info, please contact [email protected]

"My Success Story " By Betty Gottfried

My success story has just begun!

My friend Dina, who is now also a member of FIT, rounded-up a group of us to start walking/running at Central Park. We did this for several months and then decided to do the Disney Half-Marathon together. We realized almost immediately that we would have to start training with a group. I was given the task of finding this group. I did some research online and found several. There was one though that seemed to have a great program and excellent coaches. What was most unusual though, is I could feel the "friendliness factor" of this group over the internet! I knew this was the one we had to join.

Of course, it was FIT! Our expectations were not only met but surpassed. The training, coaches, seminars are all great and this is probably the friendliest, most welcoming group I have ever met. Every week, our original little group says how happy and lucky we are to have become members of FIT. Of course, we're actually becoming better runners too!

I went to NYC last weekend for a fundraiser where I did a twilight crosssing of The Brooklyn Bridge. The Pup Crawl Event It's a fundraiser for animal shelters, here and in NY. I'm excited I was a part of such event! So thanks to all FIT members and staff for their support and special thanks to Marcela and my Assistant Coach Lars.

Betty thank you so much for sharing your story! We love to hear how much you and your friends love our group, and we are so thrilled to have you all on board! Special people like you make our program one of a kind. It really is our people who make the difference! Thank you for choosing Friends In Training over so many other choices. We are honored and happy to have you all! :)
