FALL 18 MILER & WINTER 8 MILER THIS WEEKEND!
WOOO HOOO! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! :)

We have a BIG weekend around the corner! YAY!! This Saturday! (September 11th) Our Fall group will go for their first 18 miler! We have a new and exciting route you don't want to miss! Official route will be announced by your Coach/Assistant Coach on Saturday prior to leaving the park so be sure to be there on time!Also please review the FIT Long Run Planning Check List!

Our Winter and Half-marathon groups will join for their first 8 miles! Exciting! First time they will be making it to the 17th ST Causeway! YAY!!

Please remember to practice safety. Stay together, cross the streets at the light, keep a single file on the bridges and narrow sidewalks, keep hydrated, and if feel overheated, use the beach showers! It feels great to get your head under the water! :) Don’t forget to wear your FIT shirts!! Good luck everyone! Please see the start times at the conclusion of this email.

SEMINAR THIS SATURDAY:
HYDRATION, DEHYDRATION AND HEAT RELATED INJURIES! By Registered Nurse and FIT Assistant Coach Debbie Meitz

Debbie Meitz is a Registered Nurse who works in Surgery. An experienced Athlete, and an important part of our FIT Leadership Team, Debbie will be reviewing the importance of Hydration, signs and symptoms of dehydration, hyponatremia, and much more! Please be sure to stay for this valuable seminar. Do not miss it!

JENN WILL BE AT THE PARK FOR MASSAGES THIS SATURDAY!

Jennifer is a Licensed Massage Therapist who is certified in Sports Massage and Neuromuscular Therapy. As a benefit to our members, Jennifer will be coming to the park to provide Massage Therapy to our Members after the long runs. She charges $1 per minute. She has been our Massage Therapist for over 4 years and she is just wonderful! Come prepared!

TENTATIVE DATE FOR FIT PARTY! SAVE DATE AND STAY TUNED FOR DETAILS!!

Attention Members! We are in the process of planning our fun FIT Party! This event will be for all Fall and Winter Members to meet and greet, and also to wish our Fall Marathoners and Half Winter marathoners good luck in their upcoming events! Please save the date! Sunday October 3rd!. We are looking into different options as far as location so stay tuned! And if you have a Club House that can accommodate us all, please let us know! please email [email protected]

NIAGARA FALLS COUNTDOWN BEGINS! WE ARE JUST 45 DAYS AWAY FROM OUR BIG DAY! WOO HOOO!!!!

FIT members get excited! Our big event is near! We are happy to inform you we have over 50 members coming with us!! YAY! We are going to have a GREAT TIME! :)

FALL SPEED TRAINING IN HIGH GEAR AT CENTRAL PARK TUESDAYS 7:00 PM!

Attention Fall Members ! We are excited about our great turnout at Speed Training! YAY! We have some new GREAT track workouts to help you get faster and stronger, and we have hired Coach Bob for a few weeks to work along with Assistant Coach Veronica, and provide our members with valuable tips, help and support on the track as needed. You DO NOT want to miss it!

Starting next week, Coach Bob is asking us that everyone starts tracking their time per lap at the track as per his specifications starting next Tuesday. Attention Fitness Walkers! We are thrilled to inform you that your chance to cross your first 5K finish line is just 2 weeks away!

The Firefighter's 5K Run & Fun Walk will take place on the Hollywood Broadwalk Sunday, September 12, 2010 at 7:00 AM (Hollywood Beach Bandshell on Johnson St. & A1A) This event benefits the Firefighter’s and Muscular Dystrophy! A full-color BEACH TOWEL with the race logo will be given to the first 900 registrants and participants will have a chance to meet Jeff Galloway!!!

Jacey is glad she joined FIT! :)

Hi Marcela,

I am sooo glad I joined FIT. Although I had been running for about a year, the program has taken me to new levels. The information I learn from the seminars and the coaches is so valuable.

Because I have learned about hydration, nutrition and pace I was able to complete my first 16 miler two weeks ago! Even though I was out of town and I much prefer running with the group, I found the time and thanks to all I’ve learned, I not only completed the 16 miles, but felt good at the end!

The coaches and members have all been really nice and I love the fact that you embrace all levels of fitness. I’ve recommended the group to my friends and look forward to many years with FIT.

Thanks for all you do and your constant encouragement and positive attitude.
